Internal IT Support Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative individual to join our team, working closely with key stakeholders across the business. In this role, you will support both daily technical operations and broader IT projects, demonstrating a solid understanding of technology and its role within a business environment.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide on-site technical support to AccessPay staff, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our internal infrastructure. While experience with tools such as Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft 365 is advantageous, it is not essential.

The ideal candidate will be confident working across all internal departments and teams, supporting users and maintaining systems and hardware. Strong multitasking skills are essential, as you will be expected to manage day-to-day technical tasks while contributing to long-term projects and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of the company’s internal (non-customer facing) IT infrastructure, including networks, user endpoint devices.

  • Manage software and hardware procurement, upgrades and licencing compliance.

  • Provide user support for IT applications, endpoint devices such as laptops, VOIP phones, mobiles and printers.

  • User and system administration duties for all internal applications (such as Salesforce, Zendesk, RingCentral and others).

  • Perform new starter builds (ensuring that all laptops, software, peripherals and accounts are working on the first day) and manage the starters and leavers processes, and asset systems.

  • Maintain the company asset register ensuring all equipment changes are recorded appropriately.

  • Working collaboratively within a team to ensure the day-to-day business Issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all Issues are properly logged and maintain Incident ticket discipline.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical Issues with directory services and network configuration.

  • Manage and maintain the company's Remote Device Management platform ensuring any issues are identified and patched in accordance with company SLAs.

  • Help maintain accurate IT checklists and other documentation.

  • Actively support internal technical audits.

  • Perform regular maintenance such as patching, version updates, etc.

  • PAT Testing hardware across the business as part of the compliance and regulatory requirements held by AccessPay.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Hold a strong interest in computing, networking and changes in the IT industry.

  • Willingness to learn and take in new knowledge.

  • Ability to proactively manage tasks and prioritise own workload.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud computing and cyber security.

  • Experience with Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
